You’ll agree they both look similar and as such can be very confusing to some Foodies.

Sandwiches on the other hand in their original nature are comprised of Bread slices instead of Buns, and eggs in-between instead of Patty.

With this in mind, we can deduce that a Burger is in fact a Sandwich (and not the other way around.
The difference between Hamburger and Sandwich
The difference really is in their outright appearance.

As far as customisation goes, either of them could be unhealthy or more healthy depending on how the eater wishes to customise them.
For instance, depending on what type of bread you use, what type of meat, what type of vegetables, how much of the sauce you consume etc, your Burger or Sandwich can be healthy or unhealthy.

One Burger has Sodium content of 976 milligrammes. So while the protein in the Chicken in Sandwiches are leaner and healthier, the sodium content in them are reported at at least 2x of that of Burgers.
Foods high in sodium are likely to cause various forms of heart diseases like hypertension, heart attacks, strokes etc.

Burgers on the other hand have patties that are usually deep fried and as a result contain considerably more calories than the former.

Yes and no.
It depends actually.

Burger Vs Sandwich: Which is more tasty?
Truth is, guys, I can’t answer this one for you. Different people have different definitions of what “tasty” means to them.
For some Americans, “tasty” speaks to how much salt a particular comfort food has. For some it’s sugar and for some it’s the sauce.
Personally, I’ll go for Burger over Sandwich any day as far as taste is concerned. It is more expensive but nevertheless.
The only way to find out for yourself is to actually eat both and make your decision.
