Medium bowl (For mixing)
Large Sauce pan (For frying)
Long spoon (To put batter into hot oil)
Napkins or Tissue (To soak up excess oil)
teaspoons of baking powder
of granulated sugar
of grated lime
of grated nutmeg
of whole milk
(Optional. You can also make it without eggs)
of vanilla flavoring
of melted butter or Vegetable oil
: Take your medium sized bowl (doesn't matter if it's plastic, glass or ceramic) and mix all the dry ingredients together (Flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, grated lime, and nutmeg.).
: Now add the wet ingredients like the whole milk, eggs (optional), vanilla flavoring and melted butter then stir together.
: Now we're ready for frying. Grab your Sauce pan and pour oil to about the level of your pinky finger.
: Either use your hand or a spoon to scoop some batter into the hot oil. I prefer to use my hand so I can get it nice and round.
: Let them fry for a few minutes until they are golden brown in color, then roll it over to it's other side.
: Once you're satisfied with their Golden brown look, use a long spoon to fetch all the Buns from the oil into a napkin or tissue to soak the excess oil.
Finally (optionally also), if you want that extra sugary feel to it, I usually would roll each Bun in a plate of granulated sugar.
