Equipment

  • Smart Blender
  • Bowls
  • Plastic Bottles

Ingredients
  

  • Tiger Nuts (Called Aya in Hausa)
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Ginger (fresh or dried)
  • Germinated Rice
  • Water

Instructions
 

  • Wash the Tiger nuts first and soak in water for about 2 hours
  • Wash the Sweet potatoes, rice and ginger, then peel the sweet potatoes and pound with the germinated rice along with the Ginger.
  • Grind the Tiger nuts separately
  • Put water in a pot and boil, then add small quantity of water in the Tiger nuts mixture and stir
  • Pour the boiled water in to the Tiger nuts mixture and stir. Add mixture of grinded sweet potatoes, germinated rice and ginger
  • Use a sieve to separate the chaff from the Kunu mixture
  • Add water to further lighten the mixture
  • Serve chilled
